Format: The Conference Champions will be determined at the Conference Tournament with all member institutions eligible.

The men's first round begins at 8:30 Friday morning. The women's first round will follow. Parings are yet to be determined but Union's men and women will receive a first round bye.


Qualification for National Tournament: The Tournament Champion will advance to the NAIA National Tournament.
Seeding – determined by the team record for the “designated” Conference matches.
Schedule: Day 1 – Quarter and Semi-finals, Day 2 – Finals, Day 3 – Rain day

Scoring:
1. Best of 3 sets for singles.
2. 8-game pro sets for doubles; 12-point tiebreaker if needed.
3. After a team has scored 5 points the match is complete. Play is halted for all other matches underway.
4. Add scoring will be used in all matches.

Union men slips to No. 10, announced as NAIA qualifier
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Union College dropped a spot from ninth to tenth in the latest 2009 NAIA Men's Tennis Coaches National Poll, the organization released Sunday. Also the 24 qualifying teams for the 2009 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship were named, including Union.
Union received 243 votes behind a perfect 16-0 record to land tenth. Graceland (Iowa) University jumped from tenth to ninth after gathering 251 votes.
The Bulldogs are one of two teams in the Top-25 poll with an undefeated record. No. 12 Bethel (Tenn.) College stands at 10-0.
The poll was the seventh and last regular-season poll for 2009.
Auburn (Ala.) University Montgomery was voted No. 1 again with all 13 first-place votes. It is the seventh straight poll Auburn Montgomery has been at the top.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical (Fla.) University and Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University both moved up a spot to second and third, respectively. California Baptist University slipped from second to fourth and Concordia (Calif.) University remained fifth.
No teams jumped into the Top-25 with nine teams remaining put from the last poll released April 21.
Union joins 23 other teams for the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship to be contested in Mobile, Ala. starting May 12. The Bulldogs were one of the 16 teams to receive an automatic bid for winning a conference championship. Eight teams were added as at-large selections.
The Bulldogs defeated a team that qualified, Xavier (La.) University, earlier this season. Union swept Xavier 5-0 in a match contested in Rome, Ga. on April 11. In the last two NAIA Men's Tennis National Championships, Union made a run to reach the Sweet 16 each year.

Union women out of Top 25, named as NAIA qualifier
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Union College is out of the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 poll for the first time this season as the Lady Bulldogs landed at No. 29, the organization announced Sunday. Also announced were the 24 teams for the 2009 NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship, in which Union will play in.
Union was at No. 25 in the April 21 poll. This edition, the last of the regular season, Union received 31 votes, one behind Hope International (Calif.) University. The last time Union was out of the Top 25 was the final regular-season poll for the 2007 season.
The Lady Bulldogs will take a 13-3 record into the national tournament after winning the Appalachian Athletic Conference to earn the league's automatic bid.
Auburn (Ala.) University Montgomery was voted No. 1 for the seventh time this season with 12 first-place votes. No. 2 and No. 3 remain the same with Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University and Berry (Ga.) College holding the respective spots. Concordia (Calif.) University made the leap from No. 7 to No. 4 and Savannah College of Art and Design (Ga.) rounding out the Top-5.
A total of 15 teams stayed put from the last poll and Cumberland (Tenn.) University replaced Union at No. 25. Cumberland is the only team that was not in the previous Top-25 now in the rankings.
