32 teams selected to participate in National Championship Opening Round on November 21.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The
National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially
released the Women's Soccer National Championship qualifiers for the 26th
Annual event. The National Championship Opening Round takes place on
Saturday, Nov. 21 and is hosted by 16 different schools. The winners of
the National Championship Opening Round games will advance to the
National Championship final site from Nov. 30 - Dec. 5 in Decatur, Ala.

Azusa Pacific (Calif.) is making its 12th
consecutive appearance in the National Championship. The Cougars have
won 23 matches in their program's history, which is first among active
schools. Simon Fraser (B.C.) and Houghton (N.Y.) are making their 11th trips to the National Championship. There are ten schools that have qualified for the first time in school history.
No. 1-rankedLindsey Wilson (Ky.)
is making its ninth consecutive appearance in the National
Championship. The Blue Raiders finished the season as the Mid-South
Conference Tournament champion and enter the tournament on an 18-match
unbeaten streak.
Five of the current teams hold at least one
National Championship title with no team owning more then two. The last
five National Championships have been won by teams in this year's
tournament, Lee (Tenn.) in 2008, Martin Methodist (Tenn.) in 2005-2007 and Lindsey Wilson in 2004-2006.
