Sat, Nov 21, 2009 - [Cross Country]
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that a total of 254 women and 174 men's cross country runners have been named 2009 Daktronics-NAIA  Cross Country Scholar-Athletes.

The AAC had one woman and four men honored.
Union College's Eden Ellison was the women's cross country honoree.

Bryan and Montreat Colleges each had two men's cross country selections:
Representing Bryan College were Daniel Gotez and Bryson Harper
Montreat College was represented by Luke Copeland and Ben Hall.

The announcement is made one day prior to the Men's and Women's Cross Country National Championships to be held at Fort Vancouver Historical Site in Vancouver, Wash. The women's race begins at 10:30 a.m. PST and the men's event is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. PST.


Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.
