WALESKA, Ga. -- Reinhardt College women's basketball player Kinsey Galyon surpassed the prestigious 1,000-point plateau for her career when the Lady Eagles defeated the visiting Montreat College Lady Cavaliers 72-66 in overtime in an Appalachian Athletic Conference game on Wednesday at the James & Sis Brown Athletic Center.
Galyon, who missed Monday's 63-61 overtime loss to Shorter College due to an ankle injury, came off the bench to score 28 points and grab eight rebounds in 27 minutes. She was 11-of-17 from the field and also came up with two steals in the contest. Galyon, a 6-foot junior forward from Knoxville, Tenn., entered the game with 997 career points.
Within the AAC, Galyon ranks third in scoring (17.1 ppg.), third in field goal percentage (.495), fifth in offensive rebounds (2.69 per game), sixth in defensive rebounds (4.69 per game), sixth in free throw percentage (.769), sixth in double-doubles (three) and seventh in rebounds (7.4 rpg.).
