BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union hurlers Brandon Hedrick and Adam Snyder played a game of one-upsmanship Friday as the No. 16 Bulldogs swept the Appalachian Athletic Conference doubleheader from visiting UVa-Wise, winning 18-0 and 6-2.

Hedrick (Corbin, Ky.) pitched a complete-game shutout, going five innings and allowing no runs on three hits and three walks with seven strikeouts in the 18-0 opener.

All Snyder (Knoxville, Tenn.) did was fan a school-record 14 batters in tossing a complete-game in the 6-2 decision. The 6-foot-4 right-hander gave up two unearned runs on five hits and two walks.

Ironically, Hedrick tied the single-game strikeout record earlier in the season when he punched out 12 in a win over Ohio Dominican on Feb. 20.

The wins improve Union to 16-6 overall and 7-1 in conference play, while UVa-Wise drops to 6-10 overall and 1-6 in the AAC.
