Kelsey Floyd became the second Reinhardt pitcher to throw a perfect game in 2010 when she accomplished the feat on Friday.
WALESKA, Ga. -- Behind a perfect game from Kelsey Floyd, the Reinhardt College softball squad earned a doubleheader split on Friday with the Martin Methodist College RedHawks, ranked 21st nationally in the NAIA. Reinhardt, which received six votes in this week's NAIA poll to rank No. 39 in the nation, lost the opener 1-0 before winning by the same score in game two.

In game two, the Lady Eagles pushed across the contest's lone run in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI single to right field by Haley Williams.

Reinhardt collected five hits and stranded six base runners. Martin Methodist was guilty of two errors while the Lady Eagles played error-free.

Reinhardt's Floyd, a right-hander, retired all 21 batters she faced as the guests failed to get a single runner on base. Over seven innings, Floyd recorded 16 groundouts and three strikeouts and just two balls left the infield, but none after the second inning. She is a 5-foot-10 sophomore pitcher/first baseman from Newnan, Ga., and a first-year player for Reinhardt after transferring from NCAA Division III Emory University. Floyd's gem marked the second perfect game at Ken White Softball Field this season as teammate Monroe accomplished the same feat over six innings in her collegiate debut on Feb. 14.

Reinhardt is having its best season ever at 27-8 overall while the RedHawks are 27-10. The Lady Eagles return to action on Wednesday with an Appalachian Athletic Conference doubleheader at the Tennessee Wesleyan College Lady Bulldogs. Game one is slated for 2 p.m. in Athens, Tenn.
