
MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. - No. 12 Union posted a 9-0 sweep over host Milligan (Tenn.) Saturday, securing it fourth Appalachian Athletic Conference regular-season championship in a row.
The Bulldogs are 14-6 overall and 6-0 in the AAC. Union has won its last 30 matches against league opponents, winning four regular-season championships and three tournament titles during that span.
Milligan falls to 3-10 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
Union will be the No. 1 seed in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament, which will be held April 23-24 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
In doubles, the Bulldogs breezed through, winning the three matches by the scores of 8-2, 8-3 and 8-1.
Nicolas Ernst (Rietheim, Germany) won his singles match 6-0, 6-2 over Ricky Jones, while Alvaro Vargas(Manizales, Columbia) defeated Bryan Upshaw 6-0, 6-3.
Lucas Oliveira (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) blanked Mickey Brown 6-0, 6-0. Kyle Shilling (Knoxville, Iowa) won a 7-5, 7-5 battle over Matt Clark.
