KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Day three of the Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament at Domtar Park saw the season come to an end for three teams in 2010.

In the day's first game, upset minded Tennessee Wesleyan used three early unearned runs to eventually pull away and eliminate No. 3 seed Montreat, 8-0 in six innings, advancing the Lady Bulldogs to the evening contest.

Virginia Intermont benefitted from timely hitting and solid pitching to cruise past UVa-Wise in the day's second elimination game, 4-0.

Union College received an outstanding pitching performance from senior Sarah Driver and timely hitting to knock off No. 1 seed Reinhardt College, 2-1, advancing the Lady Bulldogs to the Championship game in the winner's bracket.

The day's final contest saw the Lady Cobra's and the Lady Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan battle into the sunset as Virginia Intermont used extra innings to hold off the Lady Bulldogs, 6-5 in eight innings. The contest was back and forth, as Virginia Intermont battled back from an early three-run deficit to claim a 5-3 advantage late in the game.

From there, Tennessee Wesleyan pulled even at 5-5 with two key runs in the bottom of the sixth. Neither team could push a run across in the final inning of regulation as dusk started to settle on Domtar Park.

The extra inning affair did not last long as a the Lady Cobras tallied a run in the top of the eighth and held Tennessee Wesleyan at bay in the bottom half of the frame to advance onto Friday's action.

Friday's schedule is as follows:

Game 12: Virginia Intermont vs. Reinhardt (11 a.m.)

Game 13: Union vs. Winner of Game 12 (1 p.m.)

Game 14 (if necessary): Union vs. Winner of Game 12 (3 p.m.)
