KINGSPORT, Tenn. - No. 8 seed Montreat (N.C.) rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth to edge No. 9 seed Virginia Intermont 6-5 in the 2010 Appalachian Athletic Conference play-in game Friday.

With the win, Montreat moves on to face top-seeded Tennessee Wesleyan Saturday at 5 p.m.

Down 5-4 in the ninth, the Cavaliers collected back-to-back RBI doubles from Cody Moliterno and Jordan Sells to pull out the win.

Virginia Intermont ends the year 12-37 overall, while Montreat is now 17-30.

The tournament resumes Saturday at 11 a.m. with No. 2 Union (Ky.) taking on No. 7 Bryan (Tenn.).
