
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - After winning a share of the 2009 Appalachian Athletic Conference regular-season title as well as the tournament crown, Union (Ky.) College is the favorite to take it all in 2010, according to the AAC Coaches' Poll released Friday.
Union collected six of the eight first-place votes and tallied 62 total points to land in the top position. Bryan (Tenn.) College, which shared the AAC regular-season crown with Union last season and advanced to the tournament championship match, is picked to finish second with one first-place vote and 54 points.
Montreat (N.C.) College picked up the remaining first-place vote and is projected to finish third with 48 points. Milligan (Tenn.) College came in fourth with 43 points.
Rounding out the field are Reinhardt (Ga.) University in fifth (30 points), Virginia Intermont College in sixth (23 points), Tennessee Wesleyan College in seventh (15 points) and Bluefield (Va.) College in eighth (12 points).
The 2010 AAC Tournament will be held at the MeadowView Conference Resort & Convention Center, Kingsport, Tenn., Nov. 10-12.
