MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (Dec. 16, 2005) — Milligan College head basketball and golf coach Tony Wallingford must take an extended medical leave beginning in January to undergo colon surgery. He is anticipated to be out for the remainder of the season.

Assistant coaches Donald Ensor and Richard Thomas will assume interim basketball coaching responsibilities beginning January 7. Dean of Students Mark Fox will step in to lead the golf team through their spring season. Wallingford will continue to assist with recruiting and administrative responsibilities.

Wallingford is Milligan’s all-time winningest basketball coach, with 340 wins in 17 seasons. He is ranked eighth nationally among active NAIA coaches, with 491 wins. He has led the Buffaloes to seven conference titles and two NAIA National Tournament appearances.
