ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Montreat's (N.C.) Joel Gibbs and Lindsay Mizok are this week's Appalachian Athletic Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Gibbs, a freshman from Rockwall, Texas, registered a win in his first-ever collegiate meet. In a field of 21 runners, he posted a time of 26:21 in the 8K to outpace the pack by nearly 10 seconds.

Mizok, a senior from Weddington, N.C., dominated her first race of the year, winning the 5K event with a time of 20:31. Mizok competed in a field of 20 runners and was ahead of the second-place finisher by more than 30 seconds.
