
SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The NAIA has announced that 162 Division II Women's Basketball student-athletes have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Davenport (Mich.) leads all institutions with nine honorees.
The Appalachian Athletic Conference had 10 student-athletes honored by five different schools. Tennessee Wesleyan led the way with five honorees, while Union (Ky.) had two. Milligan (Tenn.), Montreat (N.C.) and Reinhardt (Ga.) each had one.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
