DAYTON, Tenn. - Milligan (Tenn.) captured the 2012 Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Golf Regular-Season Championship with its victory in the AAC Spring Championship held at Dayton Golf and Country Club in Dayton, Tenn., on Tuesday.

In the tournament, the Buffaloes captured the tournament with a two-day total of 669. The Lady Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan was second with a mark of 683, and Union (Ky.) finished the event in third with a two-day total of 690.

Entering the final day, the Buffaloes were tied for second with Union two strokes behind Tennessee Wesleyan in the overall AAC standings, but Milligan's strong performance propelled them to the conference title with a combined 1,370. TWC finished second with a total of 1,383, while Union, Reinhardt (Ga.) and Bryan (Tenn.) rounded out the top five.

The All-Appalachian Athletic Conference Team was announced. Making the First Team were Stephanie Carr of Tennessee Wesleyan, Audrey Nelson of Bryan; Katie Horn of Union; Brittany Branker and Kaitlyn Harville of Milligan.

The Second Team is made up of Alexis Spalding of Tennessee Wesleyan, Katie Nusz of Union, Kayla Kmetz of Milligan, Kayla Smith and Mackenzie Bruce of Reinhardt.
