ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Brandi Blessing of Virginia Intermont is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

The junior outside hitter from Wytheville, Va., helped the Lady Cobras to a 2-2 record last week, which included wins over Bluefield State and Hollins. Virginia intermont is 4-3 overall and 0-0 in conference play.

Blessing had 47 kills, a .232 hitting percentage, 33 digs, six total blocks and two service aces on the week. Her best match of the week came in the 3-1 win over Hollins when she posted 19 kills to go along with two block assists and an ace.
