
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Milligan's Kylie Whaley has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference's Volleyball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Whaley also collected the leagues Hitter of the Week award, as well.
Whaley helped Milligan go 2-1 on the week, with both victories being of the AAC variety against Columbia (S.C.) and St. Andrews (N.C.) Both wins were 3-0 sweeps, as Milligan went to 9-6 on the year, 5-0 in the AAC.
This also marked the second straight week a Milligan player has captured the Player of the Week award, as Chelsea Spivey took the honors last week.
Whaley, a junior from Maryville, Tenn., had 31 kills, eight digs, and three block assists on the week. She recorded a hitting percentage of .450 (31-of-97), and in the two conference games, went 14-of-21 (.619) against Columbia, and 11-of-18 (.556) against St. Andrews.
For the year, Whaley has 152 kills, which is the third best mark in the AAC.
