ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Victoria Yates of Bryan is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This marks the first time the sophomore from Cleveland, Tenn., has received the award this year.

Yates helped lead the Lady Lions finished 12th overall in the women's Silver race at the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky. She ran a season-best 5K with a time of 19:29 for seventh-place overall out of 339 runners.
