ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Milligan swept the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Soccer weekly awards with Lauren McInturff claiming the AAC Defensive Player of the Week award and Jacklyn Orange the AAC Offensive Player of the Week nod, the league announced Monday.
This is the first awards for either McInturff and Orange this season.
Milligan went 2-0 last week with a 2-1, overtime win over NCAA Division II Mars Hill (N.C.) and a 1-0 win against AAC rival Union. The Buffaloes are 6-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play.
A junior goalkeeper from Kingsport, Tenn., McInturff recorded 16 saves on the week, including 11 in the overtime win against Mars Hill. She made five saves during the 81 minutes she played in the 1-0 win versus Union.
McInturff ranks second in the AAC in goals-against average at 1.00. She is 5-4-1 this season with two shutouts and 48 saves.

Orange, a senior forward from Bagdad, Ky., kicked the Buffaloes to victories in both games last week. She scored on a header in the 92nd minute to defeat Mars Hill and then scored the lone goal against Union in the first minute to give the Buffaloes the victory.
For the season, Orange has three goals to her credit.
