ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Chelsea Spivey is the Appalachian Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the second time this season Spivey earned the award.
Spivey, a senior from Gate City, Va., recorded 82 assists in nine sets last week to help the Buffaloes go 2-1 on the week. The senior averaged 9.1 assists per set. In the two conference victories over Reinhardt University and Point University, Spivey averaged 10.4 assists per set.
In addition, Spivey had 18 digs and four service aces. She also tallied up two block solos and five block assists. It is the second time this season that Spivey has been named the AAC Player of the week.
On the season, Spivey is averaging 9.14 assists per game and is just seven assists shy of breaking 4,000 assists for her career.
The Buffaloes are currently 14-10 overall and 9-2 in AAC action.
