ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Dan Ball and Nahom Tekle, both from Milligan, are the Appalachian Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This is the first weekly honor for both Ball and Tekle this season.

Milligan won its only game last week, a 3-1 victory over AAC rival and No. 15 Bryan. The Buffaloes are 9-4 overall and 6-1 in conference play.

Ball, a goalkeeper from Chatham, England, had five saves and directed a Milligan defense that held the Lions, who had been averaging 2.6 goals per game, to just one goal.

The sophomore has recorded 51 total saves on the season, and is averaging 4.25 saves per match.

Tekle, a forward from Louisville, Ky., recorded two assists in the contest as he helped the Buffaloes tie the match and then take the lead with under 15 minutes to play.

On the season, the senior is ranked 11th nationally with nine total assists and leads the conference in assists per game at 0.75. Tekle has also recorded three goals this season.
