KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Fresh off the upset of then-No. 15 Bryan, Milligan enters the NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll as the 23rd-ranked team, the national office announced Tuesday.

The Buffaloes (9-4 overall, 6-1 Appalachian Athletic Conference) received 171 total voting points, putting them 13 back of No. 22 St. Thomas (Fla.).

Bryan also received votes, collecting 121, putting it one behind No. 25 Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.).

For the fourth-straight week, Rio Grande (Ohio) is listed as the No. 1 team in the NAIA Coaches' Poll. With 591 points, the RedStorm was the unanimous pick by the coaches around the country. Holding at Nos. 2 and 3 are Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) and Science & Arts (Okla.), respectively.

The rest of the top five sees No. 4 Columbia (Mo.) improve three spots from last week. One of three undefeated teams in the NAIA, the Cougars boast a top-five ranking for the first time since Sept. 25, 2001. Holding steady at No. 5 is Auburn Montgomery (Ala.). The Warhawks captured 506 points to remain in the top five for the seventh time out of the last eight polls.

After a season-opening loss, Rio Grande continues to stay hot. The RedStorm take a 12-match win streak into a road contest at Bluefield (Va.) on Wednesday. The Mid-South Conference regular season will then end on Saturday at Bryan (Tenn.). Rio Grande ranks in the top-five statistically in five categories, including second in goals scored (4.2) and total shutouts (7).

The biggest movers within the poll occurred in the Southern States Athletic Conference. Moving up nine spots is No. 9 Mobile (Ala.) and suffering a nine-position fall is No. 15 Belhaven (Miss.). The Rams picked up their sixth-straight win on Oct. 20 with a 3-1 defeat of then-No. 6 Belhaven. In their last four matches, the Blazers have gone 1-2-1.

The bottom four teams in the poll are the newcomers this week: No. 22 St. Thomas (Fla.), No. 23 Milligan

, No. 24 Biola (Calif.) and No. 25 Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo.). Both Biola and Hannibal-LaGrange were ranked previously this year. St. Thomas and Milligan both get mentioned for the first time in 2012.

Bryan (Tenn.) (No. 15), Hastings (Neb.) (No. 19), Northwood (Fla.) (No. 23) and Robert Morris (Ill.) (No. 25) suffered a drop out of the poll.

The Southern States Athletic Conference leads all conferences/independents/unaffiliated groups with five teams in the Top 25: Auburn Montgomery, Mobile, No. 12 Southern Poly (Ga.), Belhaven and No. 13 Southern Wesleyan (S.C.). The Heart of America Athletic Conference placed three teams in the rankings: No. 8 MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.), No. 11 Missouri Valley and No. 14 Benedictine (Kan.).

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conference/independents/unaffiliated groups. The second NAIA Modified Ratings Percentage Index (MRPI) will be announced on Wednesday by 5 p.m. CST. The ninth regular-season poll will be announced on Oct. 30.
