
WEST POINT, Ga. - Seventh-seeded Point kicked off the 2012 Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament with a 4-0 victory over No. 10 Virginia Intermont on Tuesday.
The Skyhawks netted a pair of goals in the first half and two more in the second half in collecting the win.
Katie Cunningham and Luisa Alvarez each had a goal and an assist to pace the Point attack.
Goalkeeper Abby Stephenson kept Virginia Intermont in the game as she recorded 12 saves.
The Lady Cobras end the season with an 0-17 overall record.
Point now moves on to face No. 1 seed Montreat in the quarterfinal round. Game time is set for 2 p.m. in Montreat, N.C.
