MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (August 29, 2006) --- Seven NAIA teams, including Milligan College, were awarded the ITA All-Academic Team award for excellence in the classroom by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.  The ITA Scholar Athlete award was bestowed upon 32 individual NAIA athletes. The Buffaloes of Milligan College placed four athletes on the All-Academic list.

For Milligan, Joe Dyer (Monroe, Ga.), Isaac Schade (Stockbridge, Ga.), Tom Jones (Johnson City, Tenn.) and Stuart Makinson (Franklin, N.C.) were named to the team. Dyer, a biology major, and Schade, a Bible major, graduated from Milligan in May. Jones and Makinson, both business administration majors, are currently seniors.

The Buffaloes were also named a 2006 NAIA Scholar-Team in June.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
