Semi finalists decided in men's soccer

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (October 30, 2006) --- The Milligan College men’s soccer team, the top-seed and regular season champion, started the 2006 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament with a 2-0 victory against eighth-seeded Union College Monday evening at Anglin Field.

Milligan, ranked No. 25 in the most recent NAIA National Ratings, scored a goal in each half for the victory.

With the win, Milligan improves to 13-6 on the season and the Buffs will advance the AAC semifinal to be played Friday, November 3, in Chattanooga.

Virginia Intermont defeated Bryan College in Dayton yesterday 3-2.

Milligan will play Virginia Intermont College quarterfinal match at 4 p.m. followed by the other semifinal contest, between  King College and Montreat College.

King advanced with a 5-1 win over Tennessee Wesleyan College and Montreat shut out Covenant College 1-0 in earlier action Monday. (adapted from a Milligan news release)

The tournament will be played at Camp Jordan located in East Ridge outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The championship game will be played on Saturday, November 4, at 2:00 pm.
