MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (November 6, 2006) --- The Milligan College men’s soccer team has been selected to host the 2006 NAIA Region XII Men’s Soccer Championship, to be held at Anglin Field Friday and Saturday.
The tournament winner will earn an automatic birth into the 2006 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The Buffaloes (15-6), the 2006 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) regular season and tournament champions, enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed.
Brescia (Ky.) University (13-3-2), the champions of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, was tabbed as the No. 1 seed.
Rounding out the four-team tournament are the at-large teams, both from the AAC, No. 3 seed Montreat (N.C.) College (15-3-1) and No. 4 seed King (Tenn.) College (13-5-1).
The semifinals will begin at 4:30 p.m. Friday when Brescia and King play in the first contest, followed by Milligan and Montreat in the second match at 7:00 p.m.
The Region XII Championship is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
