BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Senior guard Andrea Hillard recorded her 500th assist Friday when she dished out nine in an 86-80 win against Pikeville (Ky.) College in PC's Gatti's Classic.
After delivering three more assists on Saturday in the 66-56 loss to University of the Cumberlands, Hillard has 506 for her career, which is 103 more than any other player in Lady Bulldog history. Tara Bailey-Middleton ranks second all-time with 403 assists.
Earlier this season, Hillard reached the 1,000th-point plateau, and she is on the verge of achieving another milestone. The 5-foot-5 guard is 73 rebounds away from posting 500 in her career, which would make the Annville, Ky. native the first player in Union history - men's or women's, to post 1,000 points, 500 assists and 500 rebounds in a career.
To date, Hillard has 1,016 points, 506 assists and 427 rebounds in her career. On the season, she is averaging 8.17 points and 3.5 rebounds per game and has 36 assists in six games.
Union (5-1 overall) returns to action on Saturday when it pays Indiana-Southeast a visit. The tip is set for 1 p.m.
