Women's Swimming - Wed, Feb. 15, 2017

KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) announced the 2017 Women's Swimming All-AAC Team, and Claire Goodrum of Asbury University earned Swimmer of the Meet honors.

Goodrum helped lead Asbury to the AAC Championship at last week's championship meet, recording individual wins in the 200 IM, 200 Freestyle, and 200 Butterfly and was a member of Asbury's 200 Freestyle Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay winning teams.

Jason Gallaher of Columbia College is the AAC Coach of the Year.

To earn All-AAC honors in swimming, a person must place in the top three of an event. If an event has five or fewer participants, only the winning person receives All-AAC honors. For relay events, all four members of the relay team receive All-AAC honors. In swimming, person can earn multiple All-AAC honors.

Here is a complete list of the 2017 All-AAC Team.

Additionally, the AAC announced the 2017 Champions of Character Team and the Academic All-AAC Team. In all, 21 made the Academic All-AAC Team with Asbury leading the way with 10 honoree. To view the entire list, click here.
