KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) announced the 2017 Men''s Swimming All-AAC Team, and Juan Patino of St. Andrews University earned Swimmer of the Meet honors.

Patino had an outstanding meet, recording individual wins in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle and was a member of St. Andrews' 200 Freestyle Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay winning teams.

David Dent of West Virginia University Institute of Technology is the AAC Coach of the Year as WVU Tech won the 2017 AAC Championship

To earn All-AAC honors in swimming, a person must place in the top three of an event. If an event has five or fewer participants, only the winning person receives All-AAC honors. For relay events, all four members of the relay team receive All-AAC honors. In swimming, person can earn multiple All-AAC honors.

Additionally, the AAC announced the 2017 Champions of Character Team and the Academic All-AAC Team. In all, 21 made the Academic All-AAC Team with Asbury leading the way with 10 honoree. To view the entire list, click here.
