ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Emily Crump of University of the Cumberlands and Kelly Friere of Reinhardt University are the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This is the ninth edition of the weekly honors for the 2017 season. The next set of awards will be announced on April 24.

AAC Defensive Player of the Week

Emily Crump - Cumberlands - Fr. - Dallas, Texas

  • Helped Cumberlands to a 2-0 record.
  • Allowed 1 goal in the 23-1 win over Montreat.
  • Made 12 saves on the week with 10 coming in a 16-4 win over Asbury.
  • Had 4 ground balls.
  • This is her second weekly honor this season.

AAC Offensive Player of the Week

Kelly Friere - Reinhardt - Fr. - Woodstock, Ga.

  • Set a Reinhardt school record for goals (11) and points (16) in a game.
  • Helped Reinhardt defeat Truett McConnell 31-2.
  • Had 1 ground ball on the week.
  • This is her second weekly award this season.
