ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The 2017 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Lacrosse Tournament gets underway on Thursday on the campus of Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga.

Tennessee Wesleyan University is the regular-season champion and No. 1 seed. Since host Reinhardt is one of the top five teams in the standings, only the top five teams advanced. Here is a look at the seedings for the tournament:

  1. Tennesee Wesleyan (11-3 overall, 8-0 AAC)
  2. Columbia (9-6 overall, 6-2 AAC)*
  3. Cumberlands (11-5 overall, 6-2 AAC)*
  4. Reinhardt (7-8 overall, 6-2 AAC)*
  5. Pont (7-10 overall, 4-4 AAC)
 

*-The No. 2, 3 and 4 seeds were determined base on which team had the better RPI rating on www.laxpower.com.

Play begins Thursday at 3 p.m. with Reinhardt taking on Point. The winner will then face Tennessee Wesleyan on Friday at 3 p.m. in the first semifinal match. Columbia and Cumberlands will meet in the other semifinal match at 5 p.m.

The championship game is set for Saturday at 3 p.m.
