MONTREAT, N.C. - January 23 - Women's Basketball - Susanna Todd scorched the nets for 38 points as she nailed a school-record eight 3-pointers in Union College's 100-77 Appalachian Athletic Conference win at Montreat (N.C.) College Tuesday.

The Eubank, Ky. native hit 12 of 15 from the field, including eight of 11 from 3-point range, in posting her career-high 38 points. Todd's previous career high was 29, which she posted against Bluefield (Va.) College on Jan. 28, 2006.

The eight 3-pointers break the school record Todd shared with Jennifer Cornett. Todd hit seven against Bluefield on Jan. 28, 2006, while Cornett set the mark with seven on Dec. 7, 2002, versus Covenant (Ga.) College.

Montreat kept pace with Union in the first half, only trailing 50-46 at the break. However, the Lady Bulldogs turned up the heat in the second half by nailing 73.9 percent (17 of 23 shots) en route to the 23-point victory.

Union finished the game making 63.5 percent (33 of 52 shots) from the field and 63.0 percent (17 of 27 shots) from 3-point range. Meanwhile, Montreat hit just 37.5 percent (27 of 72 shots) from the floor.

In addition to Todd's stellar performance, three other Lady Bulldogs hit double figures. Senior Andrea Hillard (Annville, Ky.) nearly pulled off a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Jessica Baker (Canmer, Ky.) and Brooke Smith (Pineville, Ky.) scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

For Montreat (2-20 overall, 2-9 AAC), Whitney Pace led the way with 24 points, while Shennelle Feather netted 20. Whitney Boone chipped in 11.

Union (12-10 overall, 5-6 AAC) returns home to play host to Covenant (Ga.) College on Saturday at 4 p.m.
