ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Rachel Andrews of Union is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week, the league announced Monday. Also honored were Paulina Hileman of Union and Carson Gray of Union as the Defender and Setter of the Week, respectively.

This is the second edition of the weekly honors for the 2017 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Sept. 11.

AAC Attacker of the Week

Rachel Andrews - Union - Sr. - Louisville, Ky.

  • Posted 60 kills and 20 total blocks in 5 matches played.
  • Had 3 consecutive matches of 15 kills.
  • Posted a .383 hitting percentage.
  • Ranks 13th in the NAIA in hitting percentage at .368.
  • This is her first weekly honor this season.

AAC Defender of the Week

Paulina Hileman - Union - Sr. - Johnstown, Colo.

  • Averaged 5.84 digs per set with 111 in 19 sets.
  • Posted a high of 32 digs against St. Thomas (Fla.).
  • Served up 2 aces.
  • Ranks 25th in the NAIA in total digs (175).
  • This is her first weekly honor this season.

AAC Setter Player of the Week

Carson Gray - Union - Jr. - Alexandria, Ky.

  • Registered 120 assists on the week.
  • Averaged 6.32 assists per set.
  • Registered a career-high 38 assists against St. Thomas (Fla.).
  • Posted 22 digs and 4 aces.
  • This is her first weekly award this season.
