MIDLAND, Ga. - A strong final round was all Reinhardt needed to propel it to the 2017 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Golf Fall Championship at the Bull Creek Golf Course in Midland, Ga.
After the first round, Reinhard sat in fourth with a respectable score of 301. Truett McConnell led with a 295, while Milligan (297) and Point (299) occupied second and third, respectively. However, Reinhardt shot a tournament-best 290 on Tuesday to give it a final tally of 591 for the championships.
Milligan finished second at 597, while Truett McConnell and Point tied for third at 599. Tennessee Wesleyan rounded out the top five at 609.
Matt Smith of Truett McConnell took medalist honors as he won with an 2-under 142. Reinhardt's Kameron Williams placed second at an even-par 144, while GIbson Miller of Milligan, Eric Wowor of Point, Erik Hermansson of Union, and Thomas Messenheimer of Milligan all tied for third at a three-over 147. These six players all earned All-Tournament Team honors.
The AAC Spring Championship will be help in April and hosted by Truett McConnell.
