Union's Bowling eclipses 3,000-assist plateau

Union College junior Amanda Bowling became the first Lady Bulldog in program history to record 3,000 assists in a career.
 
The 5-foot-10 setter from Louisville, Ky., recorded 44 assists in UC's 3-1 loss to visiting Milligan (Tenn.) College on Tuesday to give her 3,027 assists for her career. Bowling became Union's all-time leading assists leader as a freshman when she posted a season and a career record 1,372 assists.
 
The 2003 Appalachian Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year had 1,127 assists as a sophomore and currently has 528 this season.
 
The Lady Bulldogs are 3-12 overall this season and 2-8 in conference play. Union's next game is at home on Thursday versus Berea (Ky.) College at 7 p.m.
