BRISTOL, TN - King College has named Larry Lipker as its new
baseball coach. Lipker, who comes to King from Viterbo University in
LaCrosse, Wisconsin, takes over for the departing Craig Kleinmann. Lipker has spent the past four seasons as the head coach at Viterbo.
His 2004 squad recorded a school record 31 wins and recorded a 3.0 team
grade point average.
The Eastern Kentucky native is no stranger to success. As a
student-athlete at Campbellsville University, Lipker finished his
career in the top ten all-time for appearances, strikeouts, wins, and
innings pitched. He went on to become an assistant baseball coach at
his alma mater during the 1994-95 season.
Lipker spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Morehead State
University where he worked with all facets of the baseball program
before taking over at Viterbo.
King College Athletic Director Brad Horstmann said, “We are pleased
that Larry and his wife Dawn have decided to become a part of the King
College and Bristol Community. Larry brings a wealth of experience and
will continue and build upon the recent success of our baseball
program.”
Lipker will also serve as the Outdoor Athletics Facility Coordinator
and will be an Instructor of Physical Education. He will begin his
duties on July 1.
