Phillips sets Union digs record

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College freshman Tracie Phillips etched her name in the Lady Bulldog record book Tuesday during the team's 3-0 sweep of host and Appalachian Athletic Conference foe UVa-Wise Tuesday.

Phillips (Bowling Green, Ky.) recorded 21 digs in the sweep to give her 529 on the season, besting the previous school record of 523 set by Jessica Suttles in 2005.

On the season, Phillips has played in 109 games and is averaging 4.9 digs per game. She also has 50 services on the year.

Union is 23-7 overall and 12-1 in the conference.

The Lady Bulldogs will next play in the Tiffin (Ohio) University Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
