Torrington Cox named to the NAIA All-American third team . . .
Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Year and Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament MVP are just a few awards King College Senior Torrington Cox garnered in the 2007-08 men’s basketball season. And on March 18th the 6-7 forward from the Bahamas can also add All-American to his list of accomplishments this season. After leading his team to a 26-8 overall record and a regular season AAC title with a 16-2 record, Cox averaged nearly 18 points and nine rebounds a game. The tornado also captured the AAC Tournament title with a 78-70 victory over Bluefield College and a final NAIA Top 25 ranking of 10, the highest thus far in school history. Heading into the NAIA National Tournament the 8th seeded tornado were upset by the 24 seed Ottawa University Braves 65-70. Cox led King with 18 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
