Jim Thompson, longtime
Tennessee Wesleyan College faculty athletics representative and the
only person to have served as NAIA Region XII eligibility
chair, was presented the prestigious Charles Morris Athletic
Administrator of the Year award at the NAIA national convention last
month in Louisville, KY.
The
award was for the 2006-07 school year. Thompson was the FAC for the
Athens school for more than 20 years and chaired the behavioral
sciences department upon his retirement, but he continues his
eligibility role for Region XII and remains a member of the Appalachian
Athletic Conference eligibility committee.
