New Albany, Ind. –IU Southeast becomes the Region XII Representative to the NAIA
National Tournament in Decatur, Alabama.
UVA-Wise made IU Southeast
earn the automatic bid by winning the first game 5-1. A four run
inning capped by a 3 run shot led UVA-Wise to their win and force an if necessary game.
In the final, UVA-Wise exploded with a five run second
inning. IU Southeast would work their way back to into the game and
would overtake UVA-Wise 8-6 in the 4th.
A two run shot by Virginia
Wise in the top half of the seventh to even the game at
eight.
With a runner on second, a ball driven into right field scored
the Region winning run for IU-Southeast.
Union College defeated Tennessee Wesleyan 7-2 and Mountain State 5-4 to
move on to play UVA-Wise in the loser's bracket final at 10 am on
Saturday.
The winner of that game will play IU Southeast at 12
noon. IU Southeast won a close game over UVA-Wise in the winner's
bracket finals 4-3.

Union College will open the tournament at 10 a.m. Wednesday against fourth seeded IU Southeast College.
Sixth seeded Tennessee Wesleyan will open play against third seed Mountain State at 12 p.m. on Wednesday.
Milligan and UVA Wise have earned byes and will face the 10 a.m. and 12.p.m. winners at 2 and 4 p.m.
Play will continue Thursday and Friday with a Region Champion crowned Friday afternoon.
