
In just over two years, Lauren Snead moved into the top spot on the UVa-Wise career softball strikeout list on Saturday afternoon.
The junior fanned nine Peace College batters with the final one ending the game to give her the career record. The 2008 All-Appalachian Athletic Conference pitcher took her career total to 369 in 371 innings of work. She surpassed April Damron (2001-04), who had 367 strikeouts.
She has posted four games in six appearances of 10-plus strikeouts including a
12 strikeout performance against Randolph-Macon College on Friday. The Troutville, Va. native improved to 6-0
and has a 0.67 ERA over 42 innings on the early season.
In her career, Snead has a 36-20 record with a 2.36 ERA with 369 strikeouts to 147 walks.
