For eight straight years, the Tennessee Wesleyan College baseball team has claimed at least the regular season or tournament championship of the Appalachian Athletic Conference with the regular season title they claimed on the closing weekend of play. The Bulldogs finished the season with a 24-3 slate to edge runner-up Union College by a single game.
     Wesleyan began the final weekend tied with Union but swept King College while Union took two of three from the University of Virginia's College at Wise. The regular season title earns the Bulldogs an automatic berth in the Opening Round Tournaments of the NAIA National Championships. All AAC teams now advance to the conference tournament to be played in Kingsport, TN May 1 - 6.

    The winner of the tournament will receive the conference's second automatic qualifier berth to the national tournament. Should Tennessee Wesleyan win the tournament then the tournament runner -up would also advance.
