Belhaven fought back from a 6-2 deficit to tie Tennessee Wesleyan in the top of the eighth inning at six. The Blazers posted three more runs in the top of the ninth and then turned back a rally by the Bulldogs in the bottom of the inning to earn the right to face the host Flames.

The Blazers pounded out 14 hits off three Tennessee Wesleyan hurlers. Lake Elland stroked a home run and drove in four runs for the winners. Brent Hudson was 4-for-5 and scored a pair of runs. Brian McCormick had three hits and three RBI. Craig Dean rounded out the big day for Belhaven with a double and two singles. He scored two runs and knocked in another.


The Bulldogs got a double and a single from Matt Stanley and Eddie Van Es. However, it was Gary Tucker who did plenty of damage for the 43-14 Bulldogs with two hits and three RBI.

The Blazers used four hurlers before Chris Bennett was finally called on to shut down the rallying TWC team in the ninth. Golden Grasse worked only 2/3 of an inning but picked up the pitching win. Wesleyan used three hurlers to try to stop the Blazer bats. Justin Crowell hurler 7 1/3 innings and Gabe Rios came in to pitch 2/3 of an inning and picked up the loss.
