Richard Isberner of Rio Grande (Ohio) was announced as the NAIA Men's Soccer National Offensive Player of the Week while Jonathan Shaw of Union College  was named the NAIA Men's Soccer National Defensive Player of the Week, in the seventh installment of the weekly honors the NAIA announced Tuesday. The award is based upon action from Oct. 12-18.

These players were selected out of a pool of conference, independent, or unaffiliated player of the week winners among 23 conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.

Isberner, a 6-1, freshman midfielder from Sao Paulo, Brazil, totaled five goals, two assists and 12 points during two wins against nationally-recognized opponents last week. He notched a hat trick and assisted on a fourth goal in a 6-0 win over Cedarville (Ohio), who was receiving votes in last week's Top 25 poll. Isberner wrapped up the week with two goals and an assist in a 3-2 win over No. 3 Notre Dame (Ohio). His season total of 15 goals and 35 points is good for eighth-most in the NAIA. Isberner has helped the RedStorm to nine straight wins and a No. 7 national ranking.

Shaw, a 6-3, junior goalkeeper from Merseyside, England, posted back-to-back shutouts during a road win and a road tie last week. In the 0-0 draw with Montreat (N.C.), Shaw halted a career-high 17 shots on goal in 110 minutes of action. He followed that with a four-save shutout against Bluefield (Va.). That effort was his seventh shutout of the year. He now ranks second in program history with 11 career shutouts. Nationally, Shaw ranks 38th in goals against per game (0.950).
