Milligan defeats UVA-Wise 3-1 (25-17, 25-12, 24-26, 25-15)
Milligan ended the Cavaliers' season with the 3-1 victory. Milligan's Chelsea Spivey tallied 45 assists, while Bianca Burnett and Holly English each tallied 14 kills. Burnett added 14 digs while Morgan Rutledge added 20 digs. For UVA-Wise, Ruth Anne Hoover tallied 19 digs while Kelly Baumgarner added 23 assists and Megan Funk hit home 15 kills. Mikaela Anders finished with 9 kills and 8 digs.
Union defeats Bluefield 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-22)
Union was the first team to advance to the semifinals with their victory over Bluefield, while Bluefield advanced to the playoff round for the pool second place teams. For Union, Monica Moreland tallied 32 assists and 11 digs, while Amanda Silva added 19 digs. Autumn Combs finished with 10 kills. For Bluefield, Yeda Duarte tallied 11 digs and Takashi Franklin added 4 kills and 3 blocks.
Reinhardt defeats Virginia Intermont 3-0 (27-25, 26-24, 25-18)
In a close contest, Reinhardt sent Virginia Intermont home and stayed alive in their first AAC post-season tourney. Samantha Lane had 11 kills and 19 digs while Monica Kafka had 20 digs. For Virginia Intermont, Kaitlin Crutchley finished with 11 kills and 10 digs, Brandi Blessing added 10 kills and 9 digs, and Jessica Blevins dug up 15 digs.
Montreat defeats Milligan 3-1 (25-21, 30-28, 22-25, 25-17)
In another tightly contested match, Montreat outlasted Milligan behind solid play from Allison Baumgartner (14 kills, 12 digs, 6 total blocks) and Alyssa Kaufmna 920 digs, 13 kills, 3 total blocks), while Natalie Nieman added 25 assists. For Milligan, Chelsea Spivey dished out 41 assists, while Holly English added 15 kills and 8 digs, and Bianca Burnett was solid defensively with 24 digs and 9 kills, while Morgan Rutledge added 18 digs. Montreat advances to the 12:00 semifinal match.
Bryan defeats Reinhardt 3-2 (25-16, 23-25, 25-18, 23-25, 15-9)
In the only match to go 5 sets, the #2 seed Lions held off Reinhardt's upset bid. Player of the Year Amber Smith kept the Lions in the match with 18 kills and 2.5 blocks, while Hannah Suits and Amanda Manke combined for 52 assists. For Reinhardt, Candace Turcotte finished with 12 kills (.407 pct), while Monica Kafka played a tremendous game defensively, finishing with 37 digs. Torie O'Brien and Samantha Lane both finished with 9 kills and Lane added 21 digs. Bryan advances to face Montreat in the 12:00 p.m. match
