
The Lions struck first scoring in the 65th minute. Reggie Parks trapped a corner kick and laid the ball back to Bennie Bardales who placed the ball past the keeper. Montreat's Shaka Bangura equalized the score just three and a half minutes later on a break away. In overtime, the Lions scored in the 98th minute. Bennie Bardales played a through ball to Tom Hemmings who blasted the ball past the keeper and into the net.
Both teams played tough games the night before and you could see it in the players. Both teams had to dig deep to gut it out. The Lions played a total of 18 players.
Bryan outshot Montreat 19-10, 7-2 on goal.
The Lions are now 11-7 overall. They will play again on Saturday the 21st in the National Tournament. The time, place and opponent will be announced on Sunday.
