Michael Combs is entering his first season as the Interim Head Coach after playing four stellar years for Montreat Soccer. Combs served as team captain for three years and during his senior year he assisted Head Coach Jamath Shoffner with on-field training and various day-to-day coaching operations. Combs was also instrumental in helping Coach Shoffner in turning the Cavalier Soccer Program into a National Tournament contender.
During his senior year, Combs' leadership and play propelled the Cavaliers to a school record wins, conference ranking and highest regional finish in school history. Combs earned All-Conference accolades each of his four years.
His leadership abilities have paved the way for a successful run and will serve him equally well as the new Interim Head Coach.
Combs will be serving as the interim coach while Shoffner completes a leave of absence to play professional soccer in Germany. Combs is originally from Hickory, North Carolina where he attended St. Stephens High School. He now resides in Black Mountain.
