The men's basketball team shocked everyone tonight as they upset NAIA I top ranked Shorter University in a thriller that went down to the wire. It was an ultimate team win for the underogs and it took two clutch free-throws from junior Jeremy Mahaffey (Riverdale, Ga.) with three seconds left to seal the 73-72 victory.

Point (8-17, 4-7 AAC), struggled early in the year but they were able to pull together to hand Shorter University (21-1) their first loss of their season. Shorter, who received all 12 first place votes in the latest NAIA division I men's basketball poll, defeated the Skyhawks earlier in the season by a total of 19 points.
