King College Leaves AAC for NCAA Division II
June 10, 2009
The Commissioner's Office has been notified by the President of King College that they have withdrawn from the AAC effective June 2, 2009.
King College, a long-time member of the AAC and its predecessor, the TVAC, has been in exploratory status with the NCAA Div II for the past two years. They have applied for provisional status and expect to hear from the NCAA on July 10, 2009 whether they have been accepted.
Due to timing concerns and the impact upon the rest of the Conference, King has decided to withdraw from the AAC while it awaits the decision of the NCAA.
