SMC Men's Golf Named 2025-26 AAC Men's Team of Character

WALESKA, Ga. - The Spartanburg Methodist men's golf team is the 2025-26 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Team of Character, the league announced on Tuesday.

The award was voted on and selected by the athletic directors of the AAC.

The SMC men's golf team volunteered on a weekly basis with the United We Play program. In partnership with Spartanburg United, the team assisted with the adaptive soccer program, which is designed to provide a free and inclusive environment for players with learning and physical disabilities.

The Pioneers also volunteered with the Carolina Miracle League.

Academically, the team took care of business in the classroom, notching four Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete awards and nine AAC All-Academic Team honors.
