Johnson's Webb Named Colonel John Sullivan Male Student Athlete of Character
WALESKA, Ga. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) is pleased to announce Dallas Webb of Johnson as the 2025-26 Colonel John Sullivan Male Student Athlete of Character on Wednesday.
The award was voted on and selected by the athletic directors of the AAC.
Webb has been a big part of the change on Johnson's campus and baseball team. While his playing time has been limited, his impact has been huge. Webb started and led a Bible study on Monday nights for the team, which grew to 30 players participating. He was able to connect that study to non-playing students on campus, helping build relationships campus-wide. His effort directly impacted six players who were baptized this year.
Webb also helped build a program called 'Spiritual Captains' that will be launched in the fall and will have players of character serving as a Chaplin for their respective teams. In the development of this program, it was Dallas who pulled together key players from teams and faculty to discuss what Johnson was missing spiritually. His impact is going to be felt for years because of this effort.
The award is named after Colonel John Sullivan, who served as the conference's president and then as its first commissioner from the league's formation in 2001 until his retirement in 2022.
